Geographic Coverage and Administration
The 69 code covers the entire administrative territory of Sevastopol, including the city proper and its surrounding areas. It is a geographic code, meaning that the number is tied to a physical location. The code is administered by the Ukrainian National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR), although the actual operation may be affected by the ongoing geopolitical situation.
Overlay and Numbering Considerations
Currently, there is no overlay code for Sevastopol; the 69 code is the sole geographic code for the city. Numbering capacity is sufficient for the population, but if demand increases, an overlay could be introduced, requiring 10-digit dialing for local calls. At present, local calls within Sevastopol require only the seven-digit subscriber number, while calls from other regions in Ukraine require the full national number with the trunk prefix.
Caller Instructions
For callers within Ukraine: To call a Sevastopol landline from another city, dial 0 69 followed by the seven-digit number. For example, from Kyiv, you would dial 0 69 123 45 67.
For international callers: Dial your country's international access code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from the US/Canada), then 380, then 69, and the seven-digit number. For example, from the US, you would dial 011 380 69 123 45 67.
Note that due to the political status of Crimea, some international carriers may route calls differently or impose restrictions. It is advisable to check with your service provider if you encounter issues.
