Area Code 6246 – Volodarske, Donetsk

Geographic Overview

The +380 6246 country and area code combination corresponds to a geographic numbering plan area in Ukraine, specifically assigned to the town of Volodarske (also known as Nikolske) in the Donetsk Oblast (province). This code is part of the national numbering plan administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies, following ITU-T E.164 recommendations. The region is situated in the southeastern part of Ukraine, and the code serves the administrative district and its surrounding rural localities.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix '0' is used before the area code. Thus, a local call to a subscriber in Volodarske requires dialing 0 6246 XXX XX (where X represents the subscriber's 5-digit number). The full national number is 9 digits after the trunk prefix, resulting in a total length of 10 digits when including the leading '0'.

For international callers, the Ukrainian country code +380 is dialed, followed by the area code without the leading '0'. Therefore, the international format is +380 6246 XXX XX. For example, a typical number might be +380 6246 12345 (note: this is a placeholder for illustrative purposes).

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The 6246 area code is assigned to the Volodarske district, which is part of the Donetsk Oblast. The administrative center is the urban-type settlement of Volodarske, also known as Nikolske since 2016. The code covers the town and nearby villages, providing PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) services. As with many rural areas, the subscriber numbering is typically 5 digits, making the total local number length 9 digits (including area code).

Overlays and Numbering Changes

As of the latest available information, there are no overlay codes or recent changes affecting the 6246 area. However, due to the ongoing conflict in the Donetsk region, some areas may experience temporary disruptions or changes in service provision. It is always advisable to verify the current status with your service provider.

Caller Instructions

Local callers within the same area code can often dial just the 5-digit subscriber number, but to ensure connectivity, it is recommended to dial the full national format (0 6246 XXX XX). Callers from other regions in Ukraine must dial the trunk prefix 0, then the area code 6246, followed by the subscriber number. International callers should dial their country's exit code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from the US/Canada), then Ukraine's country code 380, then 6246 and the subscriber number, omitting the trunk prefix.

For example, a caller from the United States would dial: 011 380 6246 XXX XX. A caller from the United Kingdom would dial: 00 380 6246 XXX XX.
