Area Code 5757 – Barvinkov, Kharkiv

Overview of Area Code 5757

Area code 5757 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Barvinkove and its surrounding district in the Kharkiv Oblast of eastern Ukraine. This code is part of the national numbering plan administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) under the framework of ITU-T E.164. The geographic area is served by fixed-line PSTN infrastructure, and the code is used for local wireline telephony, including traditional copper lines and, in some cases, fixed wireless access (FWA) services.

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

Barvinkove is a city in the Izium Raion (district) of Kharkiv Oblast, though historically it was the administrative center of the Barvinkove Raion. The 5757 code covers the city itself and the adjacent rural settlements within the district. The region is primarily agricultural, with the city serving as a local commercial and administrative hub. The Kharkiv Oblast is in eastern Ukraine, and the area is located approximately 150 kilometers southeast of the city of Kharkiv.

Dialing Formats and Instructions

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix is 0, followed by the NDC and the subscriber number. The full national significant number (NSN) for a Barvinkove fixed-line number is 10 digits long, including the leading '0'. For example, a local number might be formatted as:

• National format (from within Ukraine): 0 5757 XX-XX-XX
• International format (from outside Ukraine): +380 5757 XX-XX-XX

When dialing from a mobile phone within Ukraine, the same national format applies. When calling from abroad, you must replace the leading '0' with the country code +380. For instance, to call a Barvinkove number, you would dial +380 5757 followed by the six-digit subscriber number.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest available data, there is no overlay code for the Barvinkove area. The 5757 code is the sole NDC for this geographic region. Subscriber numbers within this code are typically six digits long, making the total length of the national significant number (0 + NDC + subscriber number) equal to 10 digits. This is consistent with the Ukrainian numbering plan.

Caller Instructions

For local callers within the same area code, it may be possible to dial only the six-digit subscriber number, depending on the local network configuration. However, for clarity and to avoid misdialing, it is recommended to always use the full national format, especially when calling from a mobile phone or from another region. For international callers, always use the plus sign (+) or the international access prefix of your country, followed by Ukraine's country code 380, the area code 5757, and the subscriber number.
