Area Code 5634 – Petrykivka, Dnipro

Geographic Overview

The Ukrainian national destination code +380 5634 is a geographic area code assigned to the town of Petrykivka and its surrounding administrative district within the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (Dnipro region). Petrykivka is renowned for its distinctive decorative painting tradition, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. The code serves the fixed-line PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) infrastructure in this rural area, which is part of the broader Dnipro numbering plan area.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix 0 is used, followed by the area code and the subscriber number. The local subscriber number length in Petrykivka is typically 5 digits, resulting in a complete national significant number of 9 digits (excluding the trunk prefix). The format is:

• National dialing (within Ukraine): 0 5634 X XX XX
• International dialing (from abroad): +380 5634 X XX XX

For example, a local number might be formatted as +380 5634 2 34 56 when dialed internationally, or 0 5634 2 34 56 from a Ukrainian mobile or fixed line.

Administrative Jurisdiction

Petrykivka is the administrative center of the Petrykivka Raion (district) within the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The area code covers the town itself and nearby villages, including the Petrykivka settlement hromada. The code is managed by the Ukrainian State Enterprise of Communications (Ukrtelecom) and other licensed fixed-line operators that may provide services in the region.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest ITU-T E.164 national numbering plan, there is no overlay code for the Petrykivka area. Subscribers within the same geographic region must dial the full national number (including the area code) even for local calls, as is standard practice in Ukraine since the introduction of closed numbering in 2009. This means that even a call from a neighboring village within the same district requires dialing 0 5634 followed by the subscriber number.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers (within Petrykivka): Dial the full national number: 0 5634 X XX XX.
• Callers from other Ukrainian cities or mobile networks: Dial 0 5634 X XX XX.
• International callers: Dial your country's exit code (e.g., 00 or +), then 380 5634 X XX XX.

Important Notes

When calling from a mobile phone within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix 0 is still required. The area code is geographic, meaning it is tied to a physical location, but VoIP services may allow subscribers to use the number remotely. However, emergency services (112, 101, 102, 103) are always reached by their short codes without the area code.
