Area Code 5453 – Krolevets, Sumy

Overview of Area Code 5453

Area code 5453 is a geographic destination code assigned to the town of Krolevets and its surrounding rural districts within the Sumy Oblast of northeastern Ukraine. Under the national numbering plan, which adheres to ITU-T E.164 recommendations, this code forms part of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and is used for fixed-line services. The region is administratively part of the Sumy administrative region, and the code is allocated to local wireline operators providing services to residential and business subscribers.

Geographic Coverage and Dialing Formats

The 5453 code covers Krolevets and nearby settlements, including the town center and adjacent villages. The geographic area is characterized by a mix of urban and rural subscribers, with a relatively low subscriber density compared to major Ukrainian cities.

For local callers within the Krolevets area, the number is dialed in the national format: 0 5453 XX XX XX (where X represents the subscriber number). The leading '0' is the trunk prefix used for domestic calls within Ukraine. For example, a local call to a Krolevets subscriber would be dialed as 0 5453 123 45 67.

For international callers, the number must be dialed using the full international format: +380 5453 XX XX XX. The country code for Ukraine is +380, and the leading '0' of the national trunk prefix is omitted. Thus, an international caller would dial +380 5453 123 45 67.

Caller Instructions

Local callers (within Ukraine): If you are calling from another region in Ukraine, you must use the trunk prefix '0' followed by the area code and subscriber number. For example, from Kyiv, you would dial 0 5453 123 45 67.

International callers: When calling from outside Ukraine, replace the trunk prefix '0' with the country code +380. So the complete international dialing sequence is +380 5453 123 45 67.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the current numbering plan, there is no overlay code for the Krolevets area. The 5453 code is exclusively used for fixed-line services in this geographic region. Subscriber numbers typically consist of five to seven digits after the area code, depending on the local exchange capacity. The total length of a national significant number (NSN) for Ukraine is 9 digits (excluding the trunk prefix '0'), so the subscriber number length is adjusted accordingly. For example, if the subscriber number is 1234567, the full national number is 0 5453 1234567.

It is important to note that while mobile numbers in Ukraine are non-geographic and begin with codes like 50, 63, 66, etc., the 5453 code is strictly for fixed-line services. Calls to this code are routed over the PSTN and are subject to standard fixed-line tariffs.
