Area Code 5369 – Kremenchug, Poltava

Geographic Overview

The +380 5369 dialing prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the city of Kremenchuk and its surrounding areas within the Poltava Oblast of central Ukraine. Kremenchuk is a major industrial hub situated on the Dnipro River, approximately 280 kilometers southeast of Kyiv. The code covers the city itself and nearby settlements within the Kremenchuk Raion, including localities such as Horishni Plavni and Svitlovodsk (though the latter may have its own separate code).

Dialing Format and Usage

When calling a landline in Kremenchuk from within Ukraine, subscribers must dial the national trunk prefix 0, followed by the area code 5369 and the local subscriber number. The local numbers typically consist of 5 to 7 digits, resulting in a total national significant number (NSN) length of 9 digits (excluding the leading 0). For international callers, the format is +380 5369 XXX XXX (or +3805369XXXXXX), where +380 is Ukraine's country calling code.

For example, a local Kremenchuk number might be dialed as 0 5369 12345 from other parts of Ukraine, while from abroad it would be dialed as +380 5369 12345. It is important to note that the leading '0' is only used for domestic calls and must be omitted when dialing from outside Ukraine.

Administrative and Regulatory Context

The allocation of geographic codes in Ukraine is overseen by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) and the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR), following the ITU-T E.164 recommendation. The 5369 code is part of the numbering plan for the Poltava region, which is subdivided into several geographic zones. As of the latest updates, there is no overlay code for Kremenchuk, meaning that the 5369 code is the sole geographic code for the area. However, due to the rapid development of VoIP and mobile services, some numbers may be routed over IP networks, but the geographic association remains for administrative and emergency service routing purposes.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers within Kremenchuk: In most cases, local calls can be made by dialing the subscriber number directly without the area code, depending on the local exchange configuration. However, it is recommended to always include the area code to avoid confusion.
• Domestic callers from other Ukrainian cities: Dial 0 5369 followed by the subscriber number.
• International callers: Dial your country's exit code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from the US/Canada), then 380, then 5369, and the subscriber number. Do not include the leading '0'.

When dialing from a mobile phone within Ukraine, it is also acceptable to use the international format +380 5369... as mobile networks handle both formats seamlessly.
