Area Code 5253 – Dobrovelichkovka, Kirovohrad

Overview of Area Code +380 5253

The Ukrainian area code +380 5253 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Dobrovelichkovka and its surrounding rural districts within the Kirovohrad Oblast (Kirovohrad region) of central Ukraine. This code is part of the national numbering plan administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) under ITU-T E.164 guidelines. Geographically, Dobrovelichkovka lies approximately 300 km south of Kyiv and about 80 km north of the regional capital, Kropyvnytskyi. The code serves both fixed-line PSTN subscribers and, in some cases, VoIP services that have been assigned geographic numbers.

Dialing Formats and Usage

When calling a Dobrovelichkovka number from within Ukraine, you must dial the trunk prefix 0 followed by the area code 5253 and the subscriber's 5- or 6-digit local number. For example, a local number might be 2-34-56; from a Ukrainian mobile or fixed line, you would dial 0 5253 2-34-56. From abroad, you replace the leading zero with the country code +380, resulting in +380 5253 2-34-56. Note that the total number of digits after the country code is 9, which is standard for Ukrainian geographic numbers.

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The code covers the administrative territory of the Dobrovelychkivka Raion (district), which includes the town itself and numerous villages such as Mykolaivka, Novopetrivka, and Vysoke. As of 2020, the raion was merged into the larger Novoukrainka Raion as part of Ukraine's administrative reform, but the telephone numbering remains unchanged. The area is predominantly agricultural, with local businesses, government offices, and residential lines served by the state-owned incumbent operator Ukrtelecom, as well as alternative fixed-line operators that have been granted access to the local loop.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers within the same area code can often dial the subscriber number directly without the area code, depending on the operator's configuration. However, for clarity and to avoid misdialing, it is recommended to always use the full national format: 0 5253 X XX XX.
• Callers from other Ukrainian cities must dial 0 5253 followed by the local number.
• International callers should dial their international access code (e.g., 00 from most countries, or +) then 380 5253 and the local number.

There are no overlay codes in this region; the area code 5253 is unique to Dobrovelichkovka and its environs. If you experience difficulties reaching a number, verify that you have the correct subscriber number, as local numbers may vary in length. For emergency services, always dial the national emergency numbers (101, 102, 103, 104) regardless of the area code.
