Area Code 4856 – Berezivka, Odesa

Geographic Overview

The +380 4856 prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the fixed-line telephone network serving Berezivka and the surrounding Berezivka Raion in the Odesa Oblast of Ukraine. This area, located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of the regional capital Odesa, is part of Ukraine's PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) infrastructure. The code is administered under the national numbering plan of Ukraine, which follows ITU-T E.164 recommendations.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix '0' is used before the NDC and subscriber number. The local number length after the NDC is typically 5 digits, resulting in a complete national significant number of 9 digits (excluding the trunk prefix). The format for domestic calls is: 0 4856 XX XX X (or 0 4856 XXXXX). For international callers, the country code +380 is used, followed by the NDC without the leading '0', and the subscriber number: +380 4856 XX XX X. For example, a local number 12345 would be dialed as 0 4856 12345 domestically and +380 4856 12345 from abroad.

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

The Berezivka code covers the town of Berezivka and its adjacent rural settlements. Berezivka serves as the administrative center of Berezivka Raion, which is part of the larger Odesa Oblast. The region is primarily agricultural, with local businesses and residential subscribers relying on this fixed-line infrastructure. The code is not used for mobile services; mobile numbers in Ukraine are assigned separate non-geographic prefixes (e.g., 50, 66, 95, etc.).

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest ITU-T operational bulletins, there is no overlay code for the Berezivka area. Subscribers within the same NDC can dial local numbers using only the subscriber number (without the area code) in many cases, but for clarity and to avoid misdialing, it is recommended to use the full national format. No major changes have been announced for this NDC, but users should always verify with their service provider for any local dialing variations.

Caller Instructions

Local callers (within Berezivka): If your telephone line is within the same exchange, you may dial only the 5-digit subscriber number. However, if you are unsure, dial the full national number: 0 4856 XXXXX.

Domestic callers from other regions of Ukraine: Dial 0 4856 XXXXX.
