Area Code 4657 – Koryukivka, Chernihiv

Overview of Area Code +380 4657

Area code +380 4657 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Koryukivka and its surrounding district in the Chernihiv Oblast of northern Ukraine. This code is part of the national numbering plan administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) under the framework of ITU-T E.164. It serves fixed-line PSTN subscribers within the Koryukivka raion, including the administrative center and nearby villages.

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

Koryukivka is the administrative center of the Koryukivka Raion, located approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Chernihiv city. The area code covers the town itself and the rural exchanges that route calls to local subscribers. The region is primarily residential and agricultural, with a modest population density. The code is geographically significant: calls to +380 4657 are routed based on the physical location of the line, not the service provider.

Dialing Formats and Instructions

For callers within Ukraine (domestic calls), the trunk prefix 0 is dialed before the area code, followed by the subscriber number. The full domestic format is 0 4657 XX XX (where X represents the 5-digit subscriber number). For example, to call a Koryukivka landline from Kyiv, you would dial 04657 12345.

For international callers, the country code +380 replaces the trunk prefix, and the area code is dialed without the leading zero. The international format is +380 4657 XX XX. For instance, a caller from the United States would dial 011 380 4657 12345, while a caller from the United Kingdom would dial 00 380 4657 12345.

Numbering and Overlay Considerations

Subscriber numbers within the 4657 code are 5 digits long, making the total national significant number (NSN) length 9 digits (including the area code). As of the current numbering plan, there is no overlay code in Koryukivka; the 4657 code is the sole geographic code for the area. However, with the ongoing migration of fixed-line services to VoIP and the introduction of number portability, some subscribers may have numbers that are not physically located in the area, but the code remains geographically associated.

Caller Instructions

Local callers within the same area code can often dial the 5-digit subscriber number directly without the area code, depending on the local exchange configuration. However, for clarity and reliability, it is recommended to always use the full domestic format. For callers outside Ukraine, ensure you have the correct international exit code and drop the leading zero from the area code. Be mindful of time zone differences (Ukraine is UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer) when placing calls.
