Area Code 4565 – Fastov, Kyiv

Geographic Overview and Administrative Jurisdiction

The Ukrainian national destination code 4565 is a geographic area code assigned to the city of Fastiv (Fastov) and its surrounding settlements within the Kyiv Oblast (Kyiv Region) of Ukraine. Administratively, Fastiv serves as the administrative center of the Fastiv Raion (district). The code falls under the jurisdiction of the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR) of Ukraine, which oversees the national numbering plan in accordance with ITU-T E.164 recommendations.

Coverage Area and Primary Localities

The 4565 prefix covers the urban territory of Fastiv and the adjacent rural communities that rely on the Fastiv central telephone exchange. This includes villages and small towns within the Fastiv Raion, such as Mala Snitynka, Velyka Snitynka, and others that are part of the local calling area. The geographic scope is strictly limited to this part of Kyiv Oblast, and the code is not used for any other region in Ukraine.

Dialing Formats and Procedures

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix 0 must be dialed before the area code. The national significant number (NSN) for a Fastiv subscriber is 9 digits long, comprising the trunk prefix '0', the area code '4565', and the subscriber number (typically 5 digits). Thus, a local call from another Ukrainian city would be dialed as 0 4565 XX XX XX (where X represents the subscriber digits). For example, a typical number would be 0 4565 3 12 45.

For international callers, the Ukrainian country code +380 is used, followed by the area code without the leading '0'. The international format is +380 4565 XX XX XX. For instance, a caller from abroad would dial +380 4565 3 12 45 to reach the same subscriber.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

Currently, there is no overlay code for the Fastiv area; the 4565 code is the sole geographic code for the region. However, as with many Ukrainian cities, number portability is available for mobile services, but fixed-line numbers are generally tied to the geographic location. Callers should note that when dialing within the same local area, it may be possible to use abbreviated dialing (without the area code) for local calls, but this depends on the operator's configuration. For clarity and reliability, it is recommended to always use the full national or international format.

Caller Instructions

For local callers within Fastiv: if you are calling a number in the same exchange, you may only need to dial the subscriber number, but to avoid confusion, dial the full national format. For callers from other Ukrainian cities, always prefix with 0. For foreign callers, always use +380 and omit the leading 0. Ensure that you have the correct number of digits after the area code; subscriber numbers in Fastiv are 5 digits long, so the total number of digits after +380 is 9 (including the area code).
