Area Code 4135 – Olevsk, Zhytomyr

Overview of Area Code +380 4135

Area code +380 4135 is a geographic destination code assigned to the town of Olevsk and its surrounding rural districts within the Zhytomyr Oblast of northern Ukraine. This code forms part of the national numbering plan administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies, in accordance with ITU-T E.164 recommendations. Geographically, Olevsk is situated in the Polesia lowland, near the border with Belarus, and serves as the administrative center of the Olevsk Raion.

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

The +380 4135 numbering area encompasses Olevsk itself and several adjacent villages, including but not limited to Khotyn, Zholobne, and Kyshyn. The region is characterized by its forested terrain and agricultural economy. The code is allocated exclusively for fixed-line PSTN services within this locality, and it is not shared with any other city or district. Calls to this area are routed via the national transit network of Ukraine, with local switching located in Olevsk.

Dialing Formats and Procedures

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix 0 is used, followed by the area code and the subscriber number. The complete national format is 0 4135 XX XX, where the subscriber number typically consists of five digits (as indicated by the two groups of two digits after the code). For example, a local Olevsk number might be dialed as 0 4135 2 34 56 from any other location in Ukraine.

For international callers, the Ukrainian country code +380 replaces the trunk prefix, and the area code is dialed without the leading zero. Thus, the same number would be dialed as +380 4135 2 34 56 from abroad. When calling within the same local area, subscribers may often use short-dialing (omitting the area code), but this practice is operator-dependent and not standardized across all networks.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest updates, there is no overlay code for the Olevsk area; the 4135 code remains the sole geographic identifier for this region. Subscriber numbers are fixed at five digits, yielding a maximum capacity of 100,000 lines, which is sufficient for the local population density. Number portability is available for fixed-line services, allowing subscribers to retain their numbers when switching between operators, provided the service address remains within the same geographic area.

Caller Instructions

Local callers within Olevsk can dial the subscriber number directly without the area code. Domestic long-distance callers must dial 0 followed by 4135 and the subscriber number. International callers should use their country's exit code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from North America) followed by 380, then 4135, and the subscriber number. It is important to note that the leading zero of the area code is only used for domestic calls; it is omitted when dialing from abroad.
