Area Code 3842 – Netishyn/Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi

Geographic Area Code 3842: Netishyn and Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Area code +380 3842 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the fixed-line telephone network of the cities of Netishyn and Slavuta, located in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast of western Ukraine. This code falls under the country calling code +380 (Ukraine) and is used exclusively for landline (PSTN) services within this specific administrative district.

The region is notable for hosting the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant in Netishyn, a major employer and strategic infrastructure site. Slavuta, the larger of the two cities, serves as an administrative and industrial center. The code covers the urban areas and surrounding villages that are part of the Netishyn and Slavuta city councils.

Dialing Formats

When calling a fixed-line subscriber in this area, the dialing format depends on the caller's location:

• Domestic calls (within Ukraine): Dial the trunk prefix 0, followed by the area code 3842, and the subscriber number. For example, to reach a number in Netishyn, you would dial: 0 3842 5 12 34 (where '5 12 34' is the local 6-digit subscriber number).
• International calls (from outside Ukraine): Dial the international access prefix (e.g., 00 from most countries), then Ukraine's country code 380, then the area code 3842 (without the leading '0'), followed by the subscriber number. For example: +380 3842 5 12 34.

All subscriber numbers within the 3842 area are 6 digits long, making the total national significant number (NSN) length 9 digits (including the leading '0' for domestic calls). The area code is not overlayed; no additional area codes share the same geographic region, so local calls within Netishyn or Slavuta may be dialed using only the 6-digit subscriber number if your line is within the same exchange area.

Caller Instructions

For callers inside Ukraine, always use the full national format (0-3842-XXXXXX) when dialing from a mobile phone or from a different fixed-line zone. For callers abroad, remember to replace the leading '0' with the +380 country code. This code is not used for mobile services; mobile numbers in Ukraine are assigned to non-geographic codes starting with 50, 63, 66, 67, 68, 73, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, or 99.

As with all geographic codes in Ukraine, number portability is available for fixed lines, but the area code generally remains associated with the physical location of the exchange. If you are unsure about the exact subscriber number length, note that all numbers in this code have 6 digits after the area code.
