Area Code 3637 – Demidivka, Rivne

Geographic Overview

The +380 3637 area code is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Demidivka and its surrounding administrative district within the Rivne Oblast of Ukraine. Demidivka is a small urban-type settlement located in the northwestern part of the country, approximately 60 kilometers from the regional capital, Rivne. The code serves the fixed-line telephone network, connecting subscribers within the Demidivka Raion to the national and international PSTN.

Dialing Formats

When calling a fixed-line number in Demidivka from within Ukraine, subscribers must dial the national trunk prefix 0, followed by the area code 3637 and the subscriber's 5-digit local number. For example, a local number might be dialed as 0 3637 2 34 56. From abroad, callers must use the international access prefix (typically + or 00), followed by Ukraine's country code 380, the area code 3637 (without the leading zero), and the 5-digit local number. Thus, the same number would be dialed as +380 3637 2 34 56 from any international location.

Geographic Allocation and Numbering

As a geographic code, +380 3637 is tied to the physical location of the subscriber's line. The code is administered by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) under the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR). The numbering plan follows ITU-T E.164 recommendations, with a total length of 12 digits for international format (including the +380 country code). The 5-digit subscriber number within the 3637 code provides a maximum capacity of 100,000 direct lines, though actual usage is significantly lower given the rural nature of the area.

Caller Instructions

For local callers within the Demidivka district, it is possible to dial only the 5-digit subscriber number if both parties are connected to the same local exchange. However, for calls from other regions of Ukraine, the full national format (0 3637 XXXXX) is mandatory. International callers must always include the country code and area code. It is important to note that fixed-line numbers in Ukraine are not portable between geographic areas; if a subscriber moves outside the Demidivka exchange area, they will typically be assigned a new number with a different area code.

Overlays and Future Considerations

Currently, there are no overlay codes or additional NDCs planned for the Demidivka area. The Ukrainian numbering plan is undergoing gradual harmonization with European standards, but no changes to the 3637 code are anticipated in the near term. For businesses or individuals requiring a presence in Demidivka, securing a local number with this code ensures a local presence and may reduce call costs for customers dialing from the region.
