Area Code 3471 – Bogorodchany, Ivano-Frankivsk

Geographic Overview

The +380 3471 dialing prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the Bogorodchany district (Bohorodchany region) within the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of western Ukraine. This area is administered under the Ivano-Frankivsk regional numbering plan, which is part of the national E.164 numbering scheme. The code serves the town of Bogorodchany and the surrounding rural settlements, including villages such as Stari Bogorodchany, Hlybivka, and others within the district. As a geographic code, it is tied to a specific physical territory, and calls are routed over the PSTN to local exchanges serving that area.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix '0' must be dialed before the area code. Thus, a local number in Bogorodchany is dialed as 0 3471 XX XX XX (where X represents the subscriber's 6-digit local number). For international callers, the country code +380 is used, followed by the area code without the leading '0', resulting in the format +380 3471 XX XX XX. For example, a subscriber number 12 34 56 would be dialed as 0 3471 12 34 56 domestically and +380 3471 12 34 56 from abroad.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers (within Bogorodchany): If you are calling from another local number within the same exchange, you may be able to dial just the 6-digit subscriber number, depending on the local network configuration. However, for reliability, it is recommended to use the full national format.
• Callers from other regions of Ukraine: Always dial the trunk prefix '0' followed by the area code and subscriber number: 0 3471 XX XX XX.
• International callers: Dial your country's international exit code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from North America), then the Ukraine country code 380, followed by the area code without the '0', and the subscriber number: +380 3471 XX XX XX.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the current numbering plan, there is no overlay code for the Bogorodchany area; the 3471 code is the sole geographic NDC for this district. The subscriber numbers are 6 digits long, making the total national significant number (NSN) length 9 digits (including the area code). The Ukrainian regulator, the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF), administers the numbering plan under the Ministry of Digital Transformation. In recent years, Ukraine has been modernizing its telecom infrastructure, but the geographic numbering scheme remains stable for fixed-line services. Mobile numbers in Ukraine use separate non-geographic codes (e.g., 50, 63, 66, 67, 68, 73, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99) and are not affected by this geographic code.

When dialing from abroad, it is important to note that some international carriers may require you to drop the trunk prefix '0' and use the +380 country code directly. Always verify with your service provider if you encounter issues. For emergency services within Ukraine, dial 101 (fire), 102 (police), or 103 (ambulance), regardless of the geographic area.
