Geographic Overview

The +380 3379 dialing prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Horokhiv (also transliterated as Gorokhov) and its surrounding administrative district in the Volyn Oblast of northwestern Ukraine. This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Lutsk numbering zone, which is managed by the Ukrainian National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization. Horokhiv is situated approximately 65 kilometers east of the regional capital Lutsk and serves as a local administrative and agricultural hub. The geographic coverage of the 3379 code includes the town itself and nearby rural settlements within the Horokhiv Raion.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix '0' is required before the area code, followed by the subscriber number. The complete national format is: 0 3379 XX-XX-XX (where X represents digits of the local subscriber number, typically 6 digits). For international callers, the country code +380 is used, and the leading '0' is omitted. The international format is: +380 3379 XX-XX-XX. For example, a local number might be dialed as 0 3379 5-12-34 from within Ukraine, and as +380 3379 5-12-34 from abroad.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers (within Horokhiv): If you are calling from a fixed line within the same local area, you may be able to dial only the subscriber number without the area code, depending on the local network configuration. However, for clarity and consistency, it is recommended to always use the full national format.
• National callers (from other Ukrainian cities): Dial 0 3379 followed by the subscriber number. For example, to call a number in Horokhiv from Kyiv, you would dial 0 3379 5-12-34.
• International callers: Dial your country's international access code (e.g., 00 from most countries, or +), then 380 3379 followed by the subscriber number. For instance, from the United States, you would dial 011 380 3379 5-12-34.

Technical Considerations

The 3379 prefix is a geographic code, meaning that the tariff for calls to this number is typically based on the distance from the caller's location, although many modern operators offer flat-rate national tariffs. The code is used for both fixed-line PSTN services and potentially for VoIP services that are tied to a physical location. As of the latest numbering plan updates, there are no overlay codes for this area, so the 3379 prefix is the sole geographic code for Horokhiv. It is important to note that when dialing from mobile phones within Ukraine, the same national format (0 3379) applies, and no additional charges are incurred beyond the standard call rates.
