Area Code 3363 – Turiysk, Volyn

Geographic Overview and Administrative Jurisdiction

The +380 3363 dialing prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the Turiysk district and its surrounding settlements within the Volyn Oblast (province) of northwestern Ukraine. Turiysk serves as the administrative center of the Turiysk Raion, a territorial subdivision that includes the urban-type settlement of Turiysk and numerous adjacent villages. This numbering area falls under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization, which administers the national numbering plan in accordance with ITU-T E.164 recommendations. The code is used exclusively for fixed-line PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) services within this specific geographic region, ensuring that calls to this prefix are routed to physical telephone lines located in the Turiysk area.

Geographic Coverage and Primary Settlements

The 3363 area code covers the town of Turiysk and the surrounding rural localities, including villages such as Bobly, Myrovychi, and Solovychi, among others. These communities are served by local exchanges that connect subscribers to the national Ukrainian telecommunications backbone. The region is primarily rural, with residential and business lines distributed across the district. The numbering capacity supports both individual subscribers and local enterprises, including agricultural businesses and public institutions. For callers within Ukraine, dialing a Turiysk number requires the trunk prefix '0' followed by the area code and the subscriber's local number. For example, a local call to a Turiysk subscriber would be dialed as 0 3363 XX XX XX, where 'XX XX XX' represents the six-digit subscriber number. Internationally, callers must use the full E.164 format: +380 3363 XX XX XX.

Dialing Procedures and Caller Instructions

For domestic callers outside the Turiysk area, the correct dialing sequence is to enter the national trunk prefix '0', then the area code '3363', followed by the seven-digit local number (which includes the six-digit subscriber number plus any additional digits if applicable). For example, to call a Turiysk number from Kyiv, one would dial 0 3363 123456. For international callers, the process involves dialing the international access code (e.g., '00' from most countries), followed by Ukraine's country code '380', then the area code '3363' (without the leading '0'), and the local subscriber number. Thus, a caller from the United States would dial 011 380 3363 123456. It is important to note that Ukraine has implemented national dialing plan changes, and the use of the '0' trunk prefix is mandatory for all domestic calls. There are no overlay codes or alternative area codes for this region; the 3363 prefix is unique to Turiysk and its environs.

Technical Considerations and Numbering Plan

From a technical standpoint, the 3363 area code is part of the Volyn region's numbering plan, which is subdivided into several geographic codes to serve different districts. The subscriber numbers within the Turiysk code are typically six digits long, resulting in a total national significant number length of nine digits (excluding the trunk prefix). This structure complies with the Ukrainian national numbering plan, which aligns with the international E.164 standard. Calls to this prefix are routed over the PSTN, and while VoIP services may be used by subscribers, the geographic nature of the code remains tied to the physical location of the line. For businesses operating in Turiysk, having a local geographic number enhances local presence and trust. For individuals and companies outside Ukraine, understanding the correct dialing format is essential for reaching contacts in this area. Always verify the current dialing procedures with your telecom provider, as international dialing formats can vary by country.
