Area Code 3269 – Turka, Lviv

Overview of Area Code +380 3269

Area code +380 3269 is a geographic destination code assigned to the town of Turka and its surrounding administrative district within the Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine. This code forms part of the national numbering plan under the ITU-T E.164 recommendation, with Ukraine's country calling code +380. The code is used for fixed-line PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) services, including traditional analog lines and, in many cases, VoIP-based fixed services that retain geographic numbering.

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

The 3269 code covers the Turka Raion (district), which is situated in the Carpathian foothills near the Polish border. The primary city served is Turka, along with smaller settlements such as Borynia, Ilnik, and other villages within the raion. Administratively, Turka is part of the Lviv Oblast, and the code is managed by the Ukrainian national regulator, the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCIR).

Dialing Formats and Caller Instructions

For callers within Ukraine, the national trunk prefix 0 is used before the area code, followed by the subscriber number. The complete national format is 0 3269 XX XX XX (where X represents the local subscriber digits). For example, a local number might be 0 3269 2 45 67.

For international callers, the country code +380 replaces the trunk prefix, and the area code is used without the leading zero. The international format is +380 3269 XX XX XX. For instance, a caller from the United States would dial 011 380 3269 2 45 67, while a caller from the United Kingdom would dial 00 380 3269 2 45 67.

Local vs. International Dialing Considerations

Within Turka and the surrounding area, local calls may be made using only the subscriber number (without the area code) if the caller is on the same exchange. However, for calls from other regions of Ukraine, the full national format including the trunk prefix and area code is required. There are no overlay codes currently assigned to this area, so the 3269 code is unique to the region.

Technical and Regulatory Notes

As with all geographic codes in Ukraine, number portability is available for fixed lines within the same geographic area, allowing subscribers to retain their numbers when switching service providers. The code is exclusively for fixed-line services; mobile numbers in the region use non-geographic prefixes such as 50, 66, 95, etc. For VoIP services that use geographic numbers, the same dialing rules apply, but the physical location of the caller may not correspond to the area code.
