Area Code 3318 – Muminobod

Overview of Area Code 3318

Area code 3318 is a geographic destination code within the Republic of Tajikistan's national numbering plan, conforming to ITU-T E.164 recommendations. It is assigned to the Muminobod district (Nohiya-i Muminobod), located in the Khatlon Region in the southwestern part of the country. This code routes calls to fixed-line subscribers within the district's administrative boundaries, including the town of Muminobod and surrounding rural settlements.

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The Muminobod district is one of the administrative subdivisions of Khatlon Region, bordering Afghanistan to the south. The area code 3318 serves all fixed-line telephone exchanges within the district. The district's economy is primarily agricultural, with local administrative and community services concentrated in the district center. As a geographic code, it is tied to a physical location, and subscribers are served by the national fixed-line operator, Tajiktelecom, and other licensed local operators.

Dialing Formats and Procedures

For callers within Tajikistan, the national significant number (NSN) for Muminobod numbers is eight digits, beginning with the trunk prefix '8' when dialing from a PSTN line. The complete national dialing format is: 8 3318 XX XXX (where X represents the subscriber number digits). For example, a local number might be dialed as 8 3318 12 345 from within Tajikistan.

For international callers, the country code for Tajikistan is +992. The international dialing format is: +992 3318 XX XXX. For instance, to call a Muminobod number from abroad, one would dial +992 3318 12 345. The leading trunk prefix '8' is not used in international dialing.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest ITU-T operational bulletins, no overlay code has been assigned to the Muminobod area. The 3318 code remains the sole geographic code for the district. Subscriber numbers within this code typically consist of five to six digits, depending on the exchange capacity. When dialing locally within the same area code, it may be possible to omit the area code, but for clarity and to avoid misdialing, it is recommended to use the full national format.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers (within Muminobod): If your phone system requires it, dial the full national number: 8 3318 XX XXX.
• Callers from other regions in Tajikistan: Always dial the trunk prefix '8' followed by the area code and subscriber number: 8 3318 XX XXX.
• International callers: Dial your country's exit code (e.g., 00 from most European countries, 011 from the US/Canada), then Tajikistan's country code 992, followed by the area code without the leading '0' (if any) and the subscriber number: +992 3318 XX XXX.

Always verify the current number length and dialing procedures with your local telecom provider, as numbering plans may evolve.
