Area Code 3134 – Rogun

Overview of Area Code 3134

Area code 3134 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the city of Rogun and its surrounding administrative district in Tajikistan. Rogun is located in the Region of Republican Subordination (RRP), approximately 110 kilometers east of the capital, Dushanbe. The code is used for fixed-line (PSTN) services within this mountainous area, which is known primarily for the Rogun Hydropower Plant—a major infrastructure project on the Vakhsh River.

Dialing Formats

When calling a fixed-line number in Rogun, the complete international format is +992 3134 XXX XX, where +992 is the country calling code for Tajikistan, 3134 is the area code, and the subscriber number typically consists of six digits. Locally, callers within Tajikistan must dial the trunk prefix 0 before the area code when calling from another region: 0 3134 XXX XX. However, calls made from within the same local area may only require the six-digit subscriber number, depending on the local exchange configuration. For international callers, the leading 0 is omitted, so the format becomes +992 3134 XXX XX.

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The 3134 area code serves the city of Rogun and the adjacent rural settlements within the Rogun District. As a geographic code, it is tied to the physical location of the subscriber's line, and numbers are allocated by the Tajikistan Communications Service under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The code is not portable to other regions; if a subscriber moves outside the 3134 area, they must obtain a new number with the appropriate local area code.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers (within Rogun): If your phone system requires full national dialing, use 0 3134 XXX XX. Otherwise, dial only the six-digit subscriber number.
• Domestic callers from other Tajikistan regions: Dial 0 3134 XXX XX.
• International callers: Dial your country's exit code (e.g., 00 or 011), then 992 3134 XXX XX.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest ITU-T E.164 national numbering plan updates, there is no overlay code for the Rogun area. The 3134 code remains the sole geographic identifier for fixed-line services in this area. The number length for subscriber numbers is fixed at six digits, ensuring a total national significant number (NSN) length of nine digits (including the leading 0 for domestic calls). This consistency aids in routing and billing accuracy.

For businesses or residents in Rogun, it is essential to display numbers in international format (+992 3134 XXX XX) on websites and marketing materials to facilitate calls from abroad, especially given the area's significance for hydroelectric projects and potential international collaboration.
