Area Code 435 – Klippan-Perstorp

Overview of Area Code 0435 (Klippan-Perstorp)

Area code 0435 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) within the Swedish national numbering plan, conforming to ITU-T E.164 standards. It serves the municipalities of Klippan and Perstorp, located in the southern part of Sweden in Skåne County (Skåne län). The region is part of the historical province of Scania and lies approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Helsingborg and about 80 kilometers north of Malmö. The code covers a mix of urban and rural areas, including the towns of Klippan, Perstorp, and surrounding localities.

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The 0435 area code is administered under the jurisdiction of the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS). It is allocated to the geographic region encompassing the municipalities of Klippan and Perstorp. Key localities served include Klippan (the central town), Perstorp, and smaller communities such as Ljungbyhed, Östra Ljungby, and Klippans bruk. The region is known for its paper industry, agriculture, and scenic landscapes.

Dialing Formats and Usage

When dialing a number within the 0435 area code, the national trunk prefix 0 is used before the area code. The local subscriber number typically consists of 5 to 7 digits, depending on the specific exchange and historical number allocation. The full national format is 0 435 XX XX XX (where X represents the subscriber digits). For international callers, the format is +46 435 XX XX XX, omitting the leading zero of the trunk prefix.

For example, a local call to a subscriber in Klippan might be dialed as 0435-123 45 within Sweden. From abroad, the same number would be dialed as +46 435 123 45.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the current numbering plan, there is no overlay code for 0435; the area code is exclusive to the Klippan-Perstorp region. However, due to the growth of mobile and VoIP services, some subscribers may have ported their geographic numbers to mobile networks, but the number retains its geographic identity for routing purposes. Callers should be aware that numbers with the 0435 prefix are traditionally associated with fixed-line services, but they may occasionally reach a mobile or VoIP user if number portability has been applied.

Caller Instructions

For local callers within the 0435 area, it is possible to dial only the subscriber number without the area code in some cases, but it is recommended to always use the full national format to avoid misdialing. For callers from other parts of Sweden, dial 0435 followed by the subscriber number. For international callers, replace the leading zero with the Swedish country code +46 and drop the trunk prefix zero.
