Area Code 8352 – Dera Bugti

Overview of Area Code +92 8352

Area code 8352 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) within the Pakistan numbering plan, assigned to the district of Dera Bugti in the Balochistan province. This code is used for fixed-line (PSTN) services in the region, covering the administrative headquarters of Dera Bugti town and its surrounding rural areas. Geographically, Dera Bugti is located in the eastern part of Balochistan, bordering the provinces of Sindh and Punjab, and is known for its rugged terrain and natural gas reserves.

Dialing Format

To call a fixed-line number in Dera Bugti from within Pakistan, subscribers must dial the national trunk prefix 0, followed by the area code 8352 and the subscriber's 7-digit local number. The complete national dialing format is: 0 8352 XXX XXXX.

For international callers, the country code for Pakistan is +92, and the leading trunk prefix '0' is omitted. Therefore, the international dialing format becomes: +92 8352 XXX XXXX. For example, a local number 1234567 would be dialed as 08352 1234567 domestically and +92 8352 1234567 from abroad.

Geographic Coverage and Administration

The 8352 area code is administered by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and is allocated to fixed-line operators such as Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and other licensed local loop operators. The code serves the entire Dera Bugti District, which includes notable towns such as Dera Bugti (the district headquarters), Piring, and Baaghi. Due to the district's low population density and challenging topography, fixed-line penetration is limited, and many residents rely on mobile networks for communication.

Caller Instructions

• Local callers within Dera Bugti: If you are calling from another fixed-line number within the same area code, you may often dial only the 7-digit subscriber number, but it is recommended to use the full national format 08352 XXX XXXX to ensure connectivity across all networks.
• Callers from other cities in Pakistan: Dial 0 8352 XXX XXXX.
• International callers: Dial your country's international access code (e.g., 011 from the US, 00 from most European countries), then Pakistan's country code 92, followed by the area code without the leading zero: +92 8352 XXX XXXX.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest PTA numbering plan, there is no overlay code for Dera Bugti; 8352 remains the sole geographic code for the district. However, with the expansion of mobile services, many subscribers in the area use mobile numbers with non-geographic prefixes (e.g., 0300, 0311, etc.), which are not tied to this area code. Fixed-line numbers under 8352 are not portable to mobile networks, but fixed-line number portability may be available among fixed-line operators within the same geographic region.
