Regulatory and Technical Notes
As with all geographic numbers in Luxembourg, the 2447 prefix is regulated by the Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation (ILR). Subscribers may retain their numbers when moving within the same geographic area, but number portability allows migration to other operators, including mobile and VoIP providers, while preserving the geographic prefix. However, calls to 2447 numbers are generally tariffed as local or national fixed-line calls, depending on the caller's operator and plan.
It is important to note that due to number portability, a number starting with 2447 may not always be physically located in Lintgen; it could have been ported to a mobile network or a VoIP service elsewhere.
