Dialing Formats

When calling a fixed-line subscriber in Kerben from within Kyrgyzstan, the national significant number (NSN) consists of the trunk prefix '0', the area code '3742', and the subscriber number, which typically ranges from 5 to 7 digits. The complete national dialing format is: 0 3742 X XX XX (or 0 3742 X XXX XXX). For example, a local number might be dialed as 0 3742 5 12 34.

For international callers, the country code for Kyrgyzstan is +996. Therefore, the international dialing format becomes: +996 3742 X XX XX. Geographic Coverage and Administration

The 3742 area code covers Kerben town and the Aksy district, which includes several villages and rural communities. Kerben is situated in the western part of the Jalal-Abad region, near the border with Uzbekistan. The region is known for its agricultural production, particularly tobacco and walnuts. Fixed-line services in this area are primarily provided by Kyrgyz Telecom, the national incumbent operator, though alternative licensed operators may offer services in some localities.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest updates, there is no overlay code for 3742, meaning that the area code is exclusively used for Kerben and its environs. Subscriber numbers within this code are allocated in blocks to ensure sufficient capacity for current and future demand. When dialing within the same area code, local calls may be made using only the subscriber number, without the area code, depending on the operator's dialing plan. However, for clarity and to avoid misdialing, it is recommended to always use the full national format when dialing from mobile phones or other networks.
