Area Code 2675 – Villa Nueva

Geographic Overview

The area code 2675 is a geographic destination code assigned to the Villa Nueva exchange within the Republic of Honduras. Villa Nueva is a municipality located in the department of Cortés, in the northwestern part of the country, forming part of the metropolitan area of San Pedro Sula, the nation's industrial and commercial hub. The code is administered under the national numbering plan of Honduras, which follows ITU-T E.164 recommendations, with the full international dialing format being +504 2675 XXX X.

Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

This prefix serves the fixed-line telephone network of Villa Nueva and its surrounding communities. The jurisdiction falls under the regulatory authority of the Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) of Honduras. The exchange provides PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) services to residential and business subscribers within the municipality. It is important to note that while Villa Nueva is geographically close to San Pedro Sula, it maintains its own distinct local exchange, and calls to this area are billed as local or national depending on the caller's location within Honduras.

Dialing Formats and Instructions

For callers within Honduras, the national dialing format is 2675-XXXX (8 digits). For international callers, the format is +504 2675-XXXX, where +504 is the country calling code for Honduras. When dialing from a mobile phone in Honduras to a fixed line in Villa Nueva, the same 8-digit number is used without any trunk prefix. Local calls from other fixed lines in the same exchange area may be dialed as 7 digits (2675-XXX) if the local network supports abbreviated dialing, but the standard national format is 8 digits.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest updates, there is no overlay code for the Villa Nueva area; the 2675 prefix is exclusive to this geographic region. However, number portability is not yet fully implemented for fixed lines in Honduras, so the prefix generally indicates the physical location of the line. For businesses or residents in Villa Nueva, it is advisable to list the number in international format on websites and directories to facilitate global reach.

Caller Guidance

For local callers: simply dial 2675-XXXX. For international callers: dial your country's exit code (e.g., 011 from the US/Canada), then 504, then 2675-XXXX. Ensure you omit any leading zero that might be used in domestic dialing; Honduras uses no trunk prefix. Calls to this geographic number are typically charged at standard national or international rates, depending on the caller's location and service provider.
