📍 Geographic Location of Yunfu, Guangdong
Geographic Overview
Area code +86 766 is the ITU-T E.164 National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to Yunfu (云浮), a prefecture-level city in the western part of Guangdong Province, China. Yunfu is known for its stone and marble industry, as well as its production of sulfur and agricultural products. The city administers several districts and counties, including Yuncheng District, Yun'an District, Xinxing County, Yunan County, and the county-level city of Luoding. All local fixed-line numbers within these administrative areas share the 766 prefix.
Dialing Formats
When calling a fixed-line number in Yunfu from within China (excluding the city itself), you must dial the trunk prefix 0 followed by the area code and the subscriber number. For example, to reach a local number such as 87654321 from another Chinese city, dial 0766 87654321. If you are calling from within Yunfu, the area code and trunk prefix are omitted, so you would simply dial 87654321.
For international callers, the correct format is +86 766 87654321 (or 0086 766 87654321 from many countries). The leading '0' used in domestic long-distance dialing is not included when calling from abroad.
Numbering Structure
Fixed-line subscriber numbers in Yunfu typically consist of 7 or 8 digits, depending on the specific exchange and the date of number allocation. The total length of a domestic number (including the area code but excluding the trunk prefix) is 10 or 11 digits. The Chinese telecommunications regulator, MIIT, has implemented number pooling and overlay plans in some regions, but as of now, Yunfu uses a single area code without an overlay. This means that local calls do not require an additional prefix, and the area code is only used for calls from outside the city.
Caller Instructions
Local callers (within Yunfu): Dial only the 7- or 8-digit subscriber number.
Domestic callers (outside Yunfu): Dial 0766 followed by the subscriber number. The trunk prefix '0' is essential for domestic long-distance calls.
International callers: Dial your country's exit code (e.g., 011 from the US, 00 from most European countries), then 86 (China's country code), then 766, and finally the subscriber number. Do not include the domestic trunk prefix '0'.
As with all geographic numbers in China, the cost of calling a Yunfu fixed line depends on the caller's location and the service provider. Calls from mobile phones to fixed lines may incur higher rates, and international calls are typically billed at international rates. Always check with your carrier for current tariffs.
