Area Code 3757 – Georgi Dobrevo

Geographic Overview

The +359 3757 prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the fixed-line telephone network serving the region of Georgi Dobrevo, a village located in the Plovdiv Province of central Bulgaria. This area code is part of the Bulgarian numbering plan administered by the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) under the ITU-T E.164 standard. The code covers the administrative territory of Georgi Dobrevo and its immediate vicinity, which falls under the broader Plovdiv District. The region is characterized by a mix of residential and agricultural areas, with local telephony services provided primarily by fixed-line operators such as A1 Bulgaria, Yettel Bulgaria, and Vivacom, as well as alternative local carriers.

Dialing Formats

For callers within Bulgaria, the national dialing format requires the trunk prefix '0' followed by the area code and the subscriber number. For example, to call a fixed line in Georgi Dobrevo from another Bulgarian city, you would dial: 0 3757 XXX XXX (where X represents the local subscriber digits). Internationally, callers must use the country code +359, omitting the leading zero. Thus, from abroad, the format is: +359 3757 XXX XXX. It is important to note that the subscriber number length after the area code is typically 6 digits, making the total national significant number (NSN) 9 digits (including the leading 0).

Local vs. International Calling

When placing a local call within the Georgi Dobrevo area, callers may be able to dial only the subscriber number if their line is configured for local dialing, but this is not standard across all operators. For clarity, it is recommended to always use the full national format. For international callers, the plus sign (+) indicates the international access prefix, which varies by country (e.g., 00 in most European countries). Thus, a call from the United States would require dialing 011 359 3757 XXX XXX.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

As of the latest CRC updates, there are no overlay codes for the 3757 area, meaning that the geographic region is exclusively served by this NDC. However, number portability allows subscribers to retain their numbers when switching operators, even if they move to a different geographic area, though the prefix remains associated with the original location. This can occasionally lead to a call being routed to a subscriber who has relocated, but the caller is still billed according to the geographic tariff of the prefix.

For businesses and residents in Georgi Dobrevo, the fixed-line service offers reliable PSTN connectivity, and VoIP services are also available, but the geographic prefix remains a key indicator of the call's origin. Understanding the correct dialing format is essential for both domestic and international communication to ensure efficient and cost-effective connectivity.
