Area Code 3519 – Velichkovo, Pazardzhik

Geographic Overview

The area code 3519 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Velichkovo and its surrounding localities within the Pazardzhik Province of Bulgaria. This code is part of the Bulgarian numbering plan, which adheres to the ITU-T E.164 standard. The administrative center for this region is Pazardzhik, a significant economic and cultural hub in Southern Bulgaria. Velichkovo, located approximately 30 kilometers west of Pazardzhik, benefits from the same dialing procedures as the broader Pazardzhik area.

Dialing Formats

When calling a landline in Velichkovo, the number structure is as follows:

• National dialing (within Bulgaria): Dial 0 followed by the area code and the subscriber number. For example, to reach a local number 123456, you would dial 03519 123456. The leading 0 is the trunk prefix used for domestic calls.
• International dialing (from abroad): Dial the Bulgarian country code +359, then the area code without the leading 0, followed by the subscriber number. For the same number, you would dial +359 3519 123456.

Geographic Coverage and Jurisdiction

The 3519 area code covers Velichkovo and possibly nearby villages that fall under the Pazardzhik municipality. Subscriber numbers within this code typically consist of 6 to 7 digits, making the total national significant number (NSN) length 9 to 10 digits when including the area code. This allocation is managed by the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) of Bulgaria, which oversees the national numbering plan.

Overlay and Numbering Considerations

Currently, there is no overlay code for the Pazardzhik region, meaning that 3519 is the sole geographic code for Velichkovo. However, number portability is available for fixed-line services, allowing subscribers to retain their numbers when changing operators within the same geographic area. This does not affect the dialing format but ensures competition among service providers.

Caller Instructions

For callers within Bulgaria, always include the trunk prefix 0 when dialing a number in Velichkovo from a different area. For international callers, omit the 0 and use the country code +359. Ensure you have the correct subscriber number, as the area code alone is insufficient to complete a call. When dialing from a mobile phone, the same rules apply; however, some mobile operators may require the use of the international format even for domestic calls, so it is advisable to check with your service provider.

In summary, the 3519 area code is a vital part of Bulgaria's telecommunications infrastructure, serving the community of Velichkovo with reliable fixed-line services. Understanding the correct dialing procedures ensures seamless connectivity for both local and international callers.
