Geographic Allocation and Regulatory Notes
As a geographic code, 2637 is tied to the physical location of the fixed-line service. The Armenian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (PSRC) allocates such codes to specific regions, and they are used by the incumbent fixed-line operator (currently Team Telecom Armenia, formerly Beeline) and other licensed fixed-line providers. The code is not portable outside the Ijevan area; if a subscriber moves to another region, they must obtain a new local number with the corresponding area code. Overlay codes have not been introduced in Armenia, so 2637 is the sole area code for Ijevan. When dialing from abroad, the total number of digits after the country code is 8 (including the 4-digit area code and a 4- to 6-digit subscriber number, depending on the local numbering plan).
