Area Code 2572 – Tsakhkahovit, Aragatsotn

Geographic Overview

The +374 2572 prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the fixed-line telephone network serving the town of Tsakhkahovit and its surrounding rural communities within the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. This region is located in the western part of the country, nestled on the slopes of Mount Aragats, and is characterized by a mix of agricultural activity and small-scale local enterprises. The code is administered under the jurisdiction of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, which oversees the national numbering plan in accordance with ITU-T E.164 recommendations.

Dialing Format and Usage

When calling a fixed-line subscriber in Tsakhkahovit from within Armenia, the number is dialed in the national format as 0 2572 XX XXX, where the leading '0' is the trunk prefix, '2572' is the NDC, and the remaining six digits constitute the subscriber number. From abroad, callers must use the international format +374 2572 XX XXX, omitting the trunk prefix. For example, a local number such as 45 12 34 would be dialed as 0 2572 45 12 34 domestically and +374 2572 45 12 34 internationally.

Geographic Coverage and Overlays

The 2572 code is dedicated exclusively to the Tsakhkahovit exchange area and does not cover other towns in Aragatsotn, such as Ashtarak or Aparan, which have their own distinct codes. As of the latest numbering plan updates, there are no overlay codes or ten-digit dialing requirements in this region; the six-digit subscriber number remains standard. This means that callers within the same local area may be able to dial just the six-digit subscriber number, depending on their service provider's configuration, though using the full national format is always recommended for reliability.

Caller Instructions

For local callers within Armenia, always include the trunk prefix '0' when dialing from a mobile phone or from a different fixed-line zone. For international callers, ensure you replace the trunk prefix with the country code +374. The call will be routed via the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and may incur standard international tariffs, depending on your carrier. As with all geographic numbers in Armenia, number portability allows subscribers to retain their number if they move within the same exchange area, but porting outside the 2572 area is not permitted.
