Area Code 2371 – Araks/Armavir/Hoktember/Lenughi/Metsamor/Zartonk, Armavir

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

The +374 2371 prefix is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the Armavir Province of the Republic of Armenia. Specifically, it serves the urban and rural communities of Araks, Armavir, Hoktember, Lenughi, Metsamor, and Zartonk. These localities fall under the administrative jurisdiction of the Armavir Regional Administration. The numbering area is part of the Ararat Plain, a key agricultural and industrial zone west of Yerevan.

Dialing Formats and Caller Instructions

For callers within Armenia, the number is dialed as 0 2371 XXX XX (where X represents the subscriber's 5-digit line number). The leading '0' is the national trunk prefix. For international callers, the format is +374 2371 XXX XX, omitting the trunk prefix. The total length of a geographic number in Armenia is 8 digits after the country code, including the NDC.

Examples:

• Local call (from Yerevan): 0 2371 12345
• International call (from USA): +374 2371 12345
• International call (from EU): 00 374 2371 12345

Overlay and Numbering Plan Considerations

Armenia's national numbering plan (ITU-T E.164) does not currently implement overlay codes for geographic areas. Each geographic region retains a unique NDC. However, number portability is not widely implemented for fixed lines; therefore, the prefix generally indicates the physical location of the line. If you are calling from abroad, always replace the '0' with the +374 country code. For local calls, the '0' is required before the NDC.

Service and Usage Notes

These numbers are primarily used for fixed PSTN and VoIP services. They are not assigned to mobile networks. Businesses and residents in the listed towns rely on this prefix for daily communications. When dialing from a mobile phone within Armenia, the same format applies. For international callers, ensure you have the correct country code and omit any leading '0' from the NDC.
