Area Code 2317 – Zvartnots, Armavir

Geographic Coverage and Administrative Jurisdiction

The area code 2317 is a geographic National Destination Code (NDC) assigned to the town of Zvartnots and its surrounding areas within the Armavir Province of the Republic of Armenia. Zvartnots is internationally recognized for its archaeological site and the nearby Zvartnots International Airport (EVN), which serves the capital city, Yerevan. The code falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the Armavir regional administration and is part of the national numbering plan managed by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia.

Primary Cities and Coverage Area

The primary locality served by prefix 2317 is Zvartnots, a small town located approximately 10 kilometers west of Yerevan. The coverage area extends to adjacent rural communities and settlements within the Armavir Province, including parts of the Armavir district. It is important to note that the prefix is used for fixed-line (PSTN) services, and not for mobile or VoIP numbers.

Dialing Formats and Caller Instructions

For local callers within Armenia, the number is dialed as 0 2317 XX XXX (where X represents the subscriber's unique digits). The leading '0' is the trunk prefix used for domestic calls. For international callers, the Armenian country code (+374) replaces the trunk prefix, and the number is dialed as +374 2317 XX XXX.

Example: If the local subscriber number is 45 67 89, a caller from Yerevan would dial 02317 45 67 89. A caller from the United States would dial 011 374 2317 45 67 89 (or +374 2317 45 67 89 from a mobile phone).

Overlay Considerations and Numbering Plan

As of the latest updates, there are no overlay codes for the 2317 area. The Armenian numbering plan assigns unique geographic codes to each region, and 2317 is exclusively used for Zvartnots and its immediate vicinity. Subscriber numbers within this code typically consist of six digits, resulting in a total national significant number length of eight digits (including the area code, but excluding the trunk prefix).

Practical Information for Callers

When calling a fixed line in Zvartnots from abroad, ensure you have the correct country code and area code. Be aware that calls to geographic numbers in Armenia are typically charged at standard international rates, which vary by service provider. For businesses or individuals in Zvartnots, it is advisable to display numbers in international format (+374 2317 XX XXX) on websites and business cards to facilitate global communication.
